John Wells - POV Clip - Cornice Drop from john wells on Vimeo.
This is a blog for John Wells's media. For potential sponsors, friends, and fellow riders to check out what I have been up to. As the season comes to an end, 2012-2013 was the most progressive, powder hunting, cliff hucking, and mission scouting season on the books. El Nino turned into a neutral year bringing big snowfall and sunny days! Whistler Blackcomb POV by John Wells – Treed Up
Jan 11, 2011 Whistler Blackcomb Pow day! A short trip up to Whistler from Bellingham, WA is always a safe bet for deep snow and limitless terrain. With over 30cm fresh and more like 50 cm’s in the trees Whistler Mt. had strong winds and light dry snow blanketing its many acres. With the Alpine still shut receiving 40-60 km winds the visibility and place to be was Whistler’s lower treed terrain.
Riders: John Wells, Matt Beliveau, Will Hamburgler (Striped Jail suit), and Carl Wollschlager hit the tree stashes hard as the snow continued to dump giving Whistler some needed powder stoke. For a midweek Tuesday pow day the crowds were few and far between and the untracked lines were for the taking.
Location: Whistler Mt. B.C. Thanks! WB for another super sick day riding the biggest, bad-est resort around! Stay tuned for more from interior B.C. as John heads to RMR and KHMR for the biggest storm in Kicking Horse History.
N. Cascades, WA - New Years Day POV by John Wells
N. Cascades, WA - New Years Day POV by John Wells from john wells on Vimeo.
Jan, 1 2011 North Cascades, WA Pete Durr and John Wells set out on a New Years Resolution without really knowing why or what we were going to change.
What we found was consistency in early mornings, stable snow, cold temps, and sunshine that amounted to us vowing to rip as many lines like this one in the years and days to come.
With all of our South aspects staying cold and recieving little light this early in December, the powder was cold and the lines stayed for a while like an old friend that always hooks it up. Stay tuned for Day 2 0f 2011.
